A first building gets ready in Kasumulu
Kasumulu is quit a big school with nearly 900 pupils. The new building with 2 classrooms and a teacher's office will bring a bit of relief.
We were received by the local scouts in a quite official way. I even got a "personal guard" around me all the time, even during my speech.
As they worked well, we gave them a challenge: if we would make the budget available to clean up their other 4 buildings, would they be able to do that before the end of 2018? As the renovations are quite small and do not require specialized people like macons, they agreed to form 4 teams of volunteers and each team would take on one building. Let's see!
After the ribbon cutting we had a small discussion with the local leaders. As they intend to start up a new school in the area and shift quite some kids overthere, it might be better to use our budget for building another 7 classrooms not here anymore but on the new location. We decided to await the outcome of their discussions with the district.
